witty, catchy, clever pop music
A version of 'Break It Up & Beat It' appears on a new 4 CD compilation from Series Two Records, released on July 8th 2008. The set features 98 artists from all over the world and costs $30 US dollars (including worldwide postage) for the four CDs. There are only 100, hand numbered sets available. Each of the CDs in the set has its own artwork.
To order, send $30 USD via Paypal to SeriesTwoRecords@gmail.com (contact me if you have any problems doing this, you don't need a Paypal account).
Full tracklisting and artwork here. I'm on the second CD, along with the likes of Jam On Bread, Pocketbooks and Rex Stinson. The rest of the set has ace artists including Anne Bacheley, Princess Niko and Sunny Summer Day. It's a bargain!
Cherryade Records have released a compilation CD as a benefit for Ladyfest Manchester. A special minute-long edit of Team Leader is on the CD. You can buy it here:

This was a special one-off acoustic gig for Annie's birthday. I pinched members of The Seven Inches and Pulled Apart By Horses.

"I'm not going to review the whole event as I missed most of it, but I am going to review one set and that set was played by one Penny Broadhurst - and what a performer, honestly. She makes the kind of pop that any sane person would enjoy. It's pop for your sister, pop for you, um...and certainly pop for you. At times it's inoffensive, at times it's funny and at times quirky. I don't think Penny will thank me for saying that, but I don't care - this is my review. The biggest thing for me is should Ms Broadhurst give Girls Aloud a track to maul, it would sell in its thousands. Penny remains a clever wordsmith of some merit and a great performer. Thanks and appreciation goes out to her brass section, one man whose name eludes me - another gifted musician. If you're of a pop sensibility and wise merit, go and see her with an open mind and I think you may leave smiling."
