witty, catchy, clever pop music
Mark from Dandelion Radio has written a really lovely piece about my music on Last.fm:

After playing one of my tracks a while ago, Dimitar from Music Is Power interviewed me via VoIP and the audio is now up: http://musicpowerpodcast.blogspot.com/2008/06/after-big-bang.html
"I'm not going to review the whole event as I missed most of it, but I am going to review one set and that set was played by one Penny Broadhurst - and what a performer, honestly. She makes the kind of pop that any sane person would enjoy. It's pop for your sister, pop for you, um...and certainly pop for you. At times it's inoffensive, at times it's funny and at times quirky. I don't think Penny will thank me for saying that, but I don't care - this is my review. The biggest thing for me is should Ms Broadhurst give Girls Aloud a track to maul, it would sell in its thousands. Penny remains a clever wordsmith of some merit and a great performer. Thanks and appreciation goes out to her brass section, one man whose name eludes me - another gifted musician. If you're of a pop sensibility and wise merit, go and see her with an open mind and I think you may leave smiling."

Sid from the Music Liberation blog has written some nice stuff about me here - http://musicliberation.blogspot.com/2008/03/fresh-music-report-4.html
He's also going to feature my music in his podcast, link to follow later...
Alexander Rennie reviewed the Tiny Cat gig at the Atrium last week.
Two Penny tracks feature on the latest episode of the popular Three From Leith podcast. Click here to find out more and download the show.
Penny played two songs live last night on BBC Raw Talent for BBC Radio Humberside and BBC Radio Leeds. It was an acoustic session, with Si from The Soundmill on guitar and mandolin and Emil from The Seven Inches (and Penny's live band) on trumpet.
You can listen again to the session here for the next week. Penny's session is towards the end of the show.
You can also hear another Penny song, Chemist Goods, on Listen Again on BBC 6 Music for Tom Robinson's Introducing show, as the song was the "overwhelming winner" of the Re-Introducing poll and was played again "by popular demand". That show is available until Saturday night
Thanks for your votes...Chemist Goods will be the REINTRODUCING track of the week this Saturday on Tom Robinson's BBC 6 Music show from midnight to 2AM. Tune in! This is an ace show and deserves the support of lots of listeners. If you like new music, this show is for you.
Thanks to Tom Robinson for playing 'Chemist Goods' as part of his BBC Introducing show on 6 Music in the wee small hours of this morning.
